How My Thinning Hair Almost Ruined My Life

By Alice Shellington

As a girl the word tomorrow never had much meaning to me. Life had infinite possibilities. Going to college and playing outside with my buddies was my biggest concerns. If you're over the age of 35 you are going to relate to what I'm going to say next.

At present I'm a 42 years old lady with two kids, and a fabulous hubby. I assumed my life was perfect. Then one day as I was going through my morning regimen I spotted that my hair was thinning. I assumed, well, perhaps its stress. The kids are older and more disobedient, and I remembered reading somewhere that stressed caused alopecia. I actually didn't give it much more thought.

Approximately 30 Days Later

Here I was standing in the mirror once more. I was almost certain that my hair was thinning, and it had to be more than just stress. As I went through my day, I felt as if everybody that I encountered noticed my thinning hair. My self-confidence hasn't ever been so low. My life was arching out of control. I started to distance myself from my children, my husband, and my work-mates.

I commenced trying every OTC treatment attainable on the market. I was continually online looking for miracle solutions. I tried at least a six hair styles. For awhile that made me feel better, but the truth is my hair was continuing to fall out.

I read online that dying your hair a lighter colour was a good method to cover up thinning hair. It was suppose to make an illusion the hair was more dense. It appeared to work for awhile, but the reality is the truth.

After work one day, my man was sitting at the table. He asked if I'd sit down. I thought to myself this was it. I had been so cold that he was going to ask me for a divorce. To my continuing surprise he'd been doing research on baldness restoration. He knew what I was going through without me ever saying a word to him about it. He explained the pros and cons to me about the process.

Half A Year After Having a Hair Transplant

My hair looked stunning, and the best part was it was my natural hair. It actually looked better now than it probably did before it started thinning. I seriously recommend hair restoration to anybody suffering from thinning hair.

Casting back over everything, I was amazed to discover the psychological effects that baldness had on me. Thinning hair almost demolished my life.
